Traditional/indigenous Use

This unique resin, Sangre de Drago is sap from the Dragons Blood tree, also known as Croton lechleri. The sap from the Dragons Blood tree is taken twice during its life cycle. This is done firstly when the tree is around 10 years old. Buckets are used to catch the sap after cuts are made in the bark. Only a small amount is taken to ensure fast recovery for the tree. At the end of the trees life cycle at around 15 years the sap is harvested again.

A large amount of new trees are planted on the ancestral lands of our suppliers to have a steady stock of this beautiful medicine gift from mother nature.

Dragon’s blood is a ruby red colored sap from the jungle tree Croton lechleri, with a long history of indigenous tribal use in the Amazon region.

Dragon's blood has the highest known ORAC value of 2,897,110 giving it:

• 6,000 times the antioxidant power of vitamin C
• 800 times that of CoQ10
• 550 times that of vitamin E
